Welcome to the web site of Yellow Cabs Bayside Brass! - Wednesday 02nd of September 2009
The band is based on Brisbane's bayside, just south of the river. Concerts are held throughout the metropolitan area and south-east Queensland. We give a warm welcome to new brass and percussion players. We practice on Tuesday evenings, 7.30 - 9.30, currently at Fort Lytton National Park. The band contests in 'C' grade, however our main focus is toward providing a community arts facility that both entertains the public and encourages it's members to improve their skill levels as individuals and thus the band as a whole. We particularly welcome and encourage young players who may be looking for an extension of their school instrumental program. Our current age range is from 12 to 70 something and includes several families. Feel free to contact us using the buttons on the left of the page. For those who prefer snail-mail, please write to PO Box 38, Wynnum, Queensland 4178, Australia.

Band competes at the Australian National Band Championships - Wednesday 04th of June 2008
Easter 2008 saw the Australian National Band Championships held in Brisbane, our home city. Although dissapointed not to gain a place in C grade, Musical Director, Major Ivan Cocking, was pleased with the bands overall performance. Particularly encouraging was the bands grading in the street march music category along with many positive comments on our marching and drill. The many weeks of rehearshal and practice have payed off with a noticable improvement in the bands sound. Well done band and keep up the good work.
